Sola 1-3

But what anime that looks like it’s straight from a dating sim doesn’t have those similiarities?
Yorito takes pictures at 4 a.m., Aono is Yorito’s sister who is in a hospital and likes origami, Matsuri lives for over hundreds of years and is a yaka, Takeshi tracks down Matsuri and has a loli looking yaka side-kick named Mayuko who seems like a cosplayer and then there’s Mana, who’s the stereotype girl-nextdoor and a friend of Yorito and who has a little sister named Koyori, who is friends with Aono. So far the characters. Just so you know, yaka is short for the Japanese words for night woe. Night woe, what the heck? Yes, it’s weird. It doesn’t even sound like correct English to me, no matter the way you translate yaka. I’m not going to type a whole storyline, as you can easily find those on the net.
So, my comment so far will be that this is a stereotype sudden-girlfriend appearance, but with a storyline, a bit of romance and no ecchi and which is nicely animated. Those are all the good things that I have to say. The seiyu are simply chosen for their cuteness and only have to be cute or smart or whatever what makes them moe. Not to mention that they made it pretty predictable with just one scene in the first episode. At least according to my information…
Current overview:
Story: 7. Supernatural sudden-girlfriend appearance with a bit of romance and plenty of drama.
Animation: 8. What else to expect from a anime that is drawn by Nanao Naru, who usually draws for bishoujo games.
Sound: 6,5. The only thing that the seiyu from the girls have to do is being cute and don’t let anyone hear some emotion, at least that’s what it looks like. The opening and ending are the only thing that actually fit.
Characters: 6. Every character is simply said a stereotypical person with one or two characteristics that makes them weird.
Enjoyment: 6. The story isn’t interesting enough to keep my attention with it and well, otherwise I wouldn’t write this review that’s about 3 episodes of a series which is 13 episodes long (or better said, short).
Overall: 6,7. 7 on MAL.
Anime that are similiar to this one that are even better:
ef - a tale of memories. Also has character design from Nanao Naru.
Happy Lesson. More harem-ish and not so serious, but is more enjoyable then sola.
Kure-nai. A lot of drama and action, but with a seinen-feel.
Spice and Wolf. Same feel, except StW has a better feel, is way more enjoyable and the genre is fantasy, not supernatural.
